In yesterday’s Claims Journal article “Should Treating Psychosocial Factors be Normal?” written by Mitch Neuhaus, Vice President of Claims at Safety National, Mitch explores the psychosocial factor that is becoming the new buzzword when dealing with workers’ compensation claims. Mitch’s article brings to light the growing realization within the workers’ compensation universe of the importance of treating the psychological, social and physical symptoms of injured employees, noting that “…insightful individuals have come to understand that treating the physical injury only and ignoring the other issues in the injured worker’s life can be short-sighted. Instead, they look at the psychological and social aspects of the worker and attempt to determine which of these things might affect their recovery. If appropriate, they will apply the necessary resources to address the problems and, hopefully, speed up the recovery and return to work.” CRT’s flagship inpatient treatment center, Las Vegas Recovery Center (Las Vegas Recovery Center), has long featured Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in treating our chronic pain clients. Las Vegas Recovery Center has been the leader in CBT for chronic pain treatment well before the November 27, 2012 article presented by Fox News, titled, “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Reduces Pain”. As a result of Las Vegas Recovery Center’s leading edge efforts in treating chronic pain, we have formed partnerships with Workers Compensation Companies, Employee Assistance Programs, Labor Unions and many other organizations to treat injured workers through Las Vegas Recovery Center’s world-renowned Pain Recovery Program (PRP). Led by award winning doctor and author, Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM, PRP analyzes all of the psychosocial factors and treats each client as an individual. PRP is based on a holistic, evidence-based approach that includes individual counseling sessions, group counseling sessions, massage, physical therapy, Chiropractic Treatment, Reiki, Yoga, Chi Kung, Acupuncture and Meditation along with nutritional consultation. Our outcomes are astonishing and most clients return home a completely new person without any reliance on opiate based prescription medications. Las Vegas Recovery Center is here to assist anyone with dependence on chronic pain prescription medications and we will Discover Recovery together. About Las Vegas Recovery Center Las Vegas Recovery operates alongside Central Recovery Press, Recovery Properties and Clinical Associates.
