Enhanced Recovery Services: Recovery For The Mind, Body, & Spirit
REIKI & HYPNOSIS
The use of Reiki and hypnosis together seems to have a synergistic effect.
Reiki—rei ("universal energy") and ki ("life force")—is a form of energy work that involves channeling healing life force energy into and through the seven major energy centers (also known as chakras) of the body. This process can revitalize and balance these internal energy centers creating an interior environment that is conducive to healing and finding spiritual harmony. Reiki was developed in the early 1900s in Japan. Hypnosis is simply guidance into a trance state, combined with conversation that may promote healing through positive suggestions and/or inquiry. The unconscious state of mind is more receptive to suggestions than the conscious state. The combination of Reiki and hypnosis has the potential to curb cravings to use addictively and to assist in maintaining positive lifestyle habits. The use of this combination seems to have a synergistic effect. It can be quite effective to offer suggestions on lifestyle habits, such as changing the nature of one's cravings or replacing negative habits with other healthier alternatives. Cindy Abdelsayed Cindy graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1985 with a BS degree in Nursing. After relocating to the West Coast, she worked as an RN for several years, and in 1996 relocated to Las Vegas with her family. She volunteered at the Salvation Army residential treatment facility and started an art-healing program. At the Veteran's Hospital, she led art-healing, journaling, and meditation groups. She obtained her Advanced Therapeutics Techniques certificate in 2004 from the Academy for Hypnotic Studies in Texas.
