Enhanced Recovery Services: Recovery For The Mind, Body, & Spirit
CHI KUNG
Chi Kung literally means "Breath Exercise."
Chi means any invisible or powerful energy, and Kung is the power and achievement that come from its constant practice. Chi Kung (pronounced chee gung) literally means "breath exercise." It is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness. These three attributes make it an excellent complementary practice for anyone recovering from the effects of substance abuse and the disease of addiction. The gentle rhythmic movements create balance, flexibility, and calmness. Chi Kung integrates the mind with the body and can be very effective at: • relieving stress • building stamina • increasing vitality • enhancing the immune system • helping to reestablish the body/mind/spirit connection Greg Pergament, Chi Kung Instructor Greg has studied Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung since 1995.
