Las Vegas Recovery Center is launching
Rebuilding
Relations: A Family Program of Recovery on September 8, 2006.
The LVRC family program is designed for family members who have been
affected by the disease of addiction. It consists of a three-day intensive
and educational overview of how addiction impacts the family, as well
as guiding family members in understanding the recovery process for
their loved one while he or she is in treatment. Family members will
learn how to identify issues and receive support so that they too can
begin their own recovery process. This family process will continue
through a weekly family aftercare group.
The family dynamics of addiction can be painful, and if not addressed,
may make the recovery process difficult for the whole family. It is
as painful for the family as it is for the addict. No one wants a love
one to be sick and many addicts use for years before the family is aware
of it.
At Las Vegas Recovery Center, we are committed to providing dignified
and effective treatment of addiction for individuals and their families.
We know the support of family and friends plays a significant role in
the treatment process. Clients entering LVRC will find compassionate
staff and flexible treatment that incorporates research-based, best
treatment practices and principles. It is our goal to have each and
every client, along with his or her family members, leave LVRC with
a successful treatment experience. Together we can achieve real recovery
results that will not only help individuals find freedom from active
addiction, but show them and their families how to rebuild their lives
and stay on the road of recovery.
Our team of addiction and family experts facilitating the family program
each has over twenty-five years of experience in the addiction and family
therapy fields. Workshops will be conducted by Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM,
Medical Director of LVRC; Jim Tracy, DDS, CADC, Program Development;
and Rob Hunter, PhD, Consultant, Psychological Services.
These are exciting times for us as we continue to grow and introduce
new programs to our treatment services. We recently launched our Chronic
Pain Rehabilitation Program, which we are confident, will bring
hope to many more clients as they strive to live a life free from the
use of drugs. Our new brochures outlining this program are now available.
