First Lady, Dawn Gibbons, to tour Las Vegas Recovery CenterCarson City -- We are pleased to announce that First Lady Dawn Gibbons is scheduled to tour Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC), a Central Recovery Treatment (CRT) company on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. Las Vegas Recovery Center, 3371 N. Buffalo Drive, is a privately owned, state-of-the-art facility housed in a beautiful, safe, secure environment designed for the specific purpose of treating drug- and alcohol-related dependencies and chronic pain. It is licensed by Nevada and accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the U.S. LVRC is dedicated to providing a continuum of care for those seeking recovery from addiction. Inpatient treatment programs are specifically-designed for each client, which includes medically managed withdrawal. Other programs offered are chronic pain rehabilitation, intensive outpatient programs, and an intensive program designed specifically for families. While visiting LVRC, the First Lady will meet the staff doctors, nurses and counselors committed to helping those who suffer from the disease of addiction. The center’s clients also will have a chance to share their experiences with Gibbons. Stuart Smith, CEO of the treatment facility, said Gibbons’ visit will help get out the message that addiction is a disease that needs treatment accompanied by compassion, dignity and respect. “Not only do clients become drug-free, but they also learn to rebuild their lives through a structured rehabilitation program,” Smith said. “They and their families learn how to maintain abstinence and establish healthier lifestyle choices.” Dr. Mel Pohl, medical director of LVRC, goes on to say, “We help people make the choice not to relapse. We do not maintain anyone’s recovery; they have to maintain their own. We offer professional expertise and support in solving problems by educating our clients about the disease of addiction.” These are exciting times for us as we continue to grow and introduce new programs to our treatment services. We believe the support received from First Lady Gibbons will be an integral part of LVRC’s vision as we strive to become the employer of choice for behavioral healthcare professionals and a leader in the behavioral healthcare field.
