Like the four cardinal directions found on any map or compass, we attempt to "map" into a problem, discover its source, and reach a solution. Instead of north, south, east, and west, our "mapping" incorporates a holistic method of treatment by examining the four components of the psyche—intellectual (mental), emotional, intuitive (spiritual or "gut-feeling"), and social (relationships).
