Claudia Black, Phd - Senior Clinical and Family Services Advisor
Claudia Black is a renowned addiction author, speaker and trainer internationally recognized for her pioneering and contemporary work with family systems and addictive disorders. Since the 1970's Claudia's work has encompassed the impact of addiction on young and adult children. She offers models of intervention and treatment related to family violence, multi-addictions, relapse, anger, depression and women's issues. Her writings and teachings have become a standard in the field of addictions.
Stuart Ghertner, Clinical Director
Dr. Ghertner has over thirty-five years of experience in the behavioral health field. He has managed and consulted with provider groups, hospitals, government entities, insurance companies, and managed care organizations around the country. He was president, CEO, and chairman of the Board of Directors at Behavioral Healthcare Options; COO at Comprehensive Care Corporation, and principal consultant at Behavioral Health Strategies. Most recently, he served as agency director at Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services.
Leanne Earnest, Clinical Staff Psychologist
Leanne Earnest, B.S.N., Ph.D. has a degree in nursing and is a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Earnest specializes in cognitive behavioral and mindfulness based therapies to facilitate healing and wellness. Dr Earnest joined the CRT staff in September 2011.
George Gatski, Director of Operations
George D. Gatski, BS, CADC is the Clinical Programs Director. Mr. Gatski played integral part of the initial development of the Las Vegas Recovery Center’s rehabilitation program, Intensive Outpatient program and the Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program. He has been with CRT since the doors opened in April of 2003. Mr. Gatski has more than 15 years experience as a clinician, supervisor, and director within the addiction treatment and recovery field and has worked for other state-funded treatment programs in the state of Nevada.
INPATIENT COUNSELORS
Kelly McDermott, Primary Counselor
Kelly McDermott, MS, LADC is a primary counselor responsible for care of long term (5, 9 and 12 week) and Pain clients. Duties include (but are not limited to) preparing individualized assessments, treatment plans and group programming, case management of clients assigned, individual and group counseling and completion of all corresponding documentation. Ms. McDermott has been with the Company since May 2007.
Gail Papandrea, Primary Counselor
Gail Papandrea, MS, LADC is a primary counselor responsible for care of long term (5, 9 and 12 week) and Pain clients. Ms. Papandrea has been with the Company since May 2007.
Kyle Fetterer, Primary Counselor
Kyle Fetterer, CADC-Intern is one of two Intake Counselors for CRT. Mr. Fetterer is responsible for completing the Intake process of all new clients to include interviewing the client, completing all required documentation and contacting insurance companies for pre-certification. Mr. Fetterer has been with the Company since August 2011.
Hortensia DeJesus, Family Services Manager
Hortensia DeJesus, CADC-Intern is Family Services Manager. Ms. DeJesus has more than four years experience within the addiction treatment and recovery fields; 2.5 years experience as a clinician and currently manages CRT’s Family Renewal Program which includes our specially designed Family Renewal Weekend and Family Support Group which meets on Friday evenings. The family renewal program recognizes that family participation, education, and recovery are vital to the successful outcome of long-term sustained recovery and change for the addict. Ms. DeJesus has been with the Company since November 2006.
Paul Hinshaw, Residential Services Counselor
Paul M. Hinshaw, BS, CADC is the manager of two outpatient programs: Central Recovery Las Vegas and Central Recovery Henderson. Mr. Hinshaw was a part of the initial development of the Las Vegas Recovery Center’s rehabilitation program. Mr. Hinshaw has worked in the addiction treatment field for over ten years both as a clinician and supervisor and has worked at several stated-funded outpatient and residential programs in the state of Nevada. Mr. Hinshaw has been with the Company since April 2003.
OUTPATIENT COUNSELORS
Kelly Miller, Intensive Outpatient Counselor

Derek Harper, Intensive Outpatient Counselor
Derek Harper, CADC-Intern is an Intensive Outpatient counselor at Central Recovery Las Vegas and Central Recovery Henderson since July 2011. Mr. Harper has more than four years within the addiction treatment and recovery fields; three years experience as a clinician in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Travis Shephard, Intensive Outpatient Counselor
Travis Shephard, CADC-Intern is an Outpatient Counselor at Central Recovery Las Vegas and Central Recovery Henderson. Mr. Shephard has more than seven years experience within the addiction treatment field as a clinician in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Mr. Shephard has been with the Central Recovery since 2005. He is a person in long term recovery from drugs and alcohol and an active member in a local 12 step fellowship. Travis is an Eagle Scout and senior studying psychology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Renée Stewart, Community Programs Manager
Renée Stewart is the Community Programs Manager for Central Recovery Treatment. She has worked more than twelve years in the profession of substance abuse treatment and has extensive experience in program development and overall operations of drug and alcohol treatment programs in the Southern California area. Renée is a Certified Addiction Drug and Alcohol Counselor Intern, a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor, an Adult Anger Management Facilitator and is a member of the California Association for Alcohol and Drug Educators (CAADE). She earned her certification as a Specialist in Alcohol and Drug Studies at Glendale Community College. She has often lectured at local community colleges in the Alcohol and Drug Studies programs focusing on confidentiality, boundaries, and ethics. She has also appeared on MTV’s hit show, ‘Real World’ in her capacity as a substance abuse professional. Ms. Stewart is dedicated to helping individuals and their families who are struggling with substance abuse and related problems. She believes that in providing a safe environment and the guidance and support of professional counselors, recovery from addiction is achievable.
INPATIENT CLINICAL STAFF
Tiffani Brooks, Client Services Coordinator
Tiffani Brooks is the Client Services Coordinator responsible for coordinating clients’ enhanced and non-clinical services associated with their treatment program. With the Company since December 2009, she has held a variety of positions. In her present position Ms. Brooks ensures quality service to clients during their length of stay for treatment.
Teri Szabo, Clinical Associate
Teri Szabo is the Client Services Manager responsible for coordinating clients’ enhanced and non-clinical services associated with their treatment program to ensure a well rounded and satisfactory stay during their admission stay. Ms. Szabo has been with the Company since February 2005.
Blake Bunker, Clinical Associate
Blake Bunker is a Clinical Associate with the Company since September 2010. Mr. Bunker assists counselors with client needs and the daily routine of the facility.
Alvin Elliott, Clinical Associate
Alvin Elliott is a Clinical Associate with the Company since March 2011. Mr. Elliott assists counselors with client needs and the daily routine of the facility.
David Lawrence, Clinical Associate
David Lawrence is a Clinical Associate with the Company since August 2008. Mr. Lawrence assists counselors with client needs and the daily routine of the facility.
Jill NaVeau, Clinical Associate
Jill NaVeau is a Clinical Associate with the Company since August 2011. Ms. NaVeau assists counselors with client needs and the daily routine of the facility. Ms. NaVeau has earned an Associate of Applied Science in Social Work with main focus on Addiction Studies and is currently enrolled in the Counselor Education program at UNLV.
Mark Post, Clinical Associate
Mark Post is a Clinical Associate with the Company since March 2010. Mr. Post assists counselors with client needs and the daily routine of the facility.
Greg Pergament, Clinical Associate
Greg Pergament is a Clinical Associate with the Company since June 2011. Mr. Pergament assists counselors with client needs and the daily routine of the facility.
Kristen Schaeffer, Clinical Associate
